Repeating something as significant like that could be viewed as relieving Prevost from responsibility for making silly claims, but if someone tells me they saw aliens landing in a space ship and I repeated it does that make me having less responsibility for promoting a lie?

Over the years I have lost count of owners and drivers making mileage claims based on one or two tanks of fuel. I don’t doubt drivers are doing that and it can be misleading. If I hit a day when I am driving primarily on flat ground, with a strong tailwind and my slow highway speeds I can get some impressive fuel mileage figures. But my real fuel consumption is going to include not only all types of terrain, head winds in addition to the tail winds, high temps, low temps and thousands of gallons of fuel burned.
