  • Any Liberty Webasto Heater Hose Failures?

Posted by Jeff on April 25, 2020 at 6:39 pm

Has anyone had a failure of the red hose used by Liberty that goes from the engine to both the Webasto or electric water heater? Curious to know at what age it should be replaced. Thank you, Jeff

My 27 year heater hose is still going strong. Though I might replace it soon. If it’s red – it’s possibly silicone heater hose which will easily outlast the coach.

Hoses installed by converters seem to have a shorter life span than hoses installed for the engine. I got surprised by a hose failure from the engine to the Raritan HW tank so I tend to spend time checking house hoses and replacing any that I even think might be a problem.

Mine failed maybe 3-5 years ago but it was not a red hose. It was a converter installed black hose with steel spiral reinforcement. I replaced with silicone hose.
