Antifreeze Petcock on Generator Block ?
I have a 20K Powertech Generator in My Liberty. And had a small oil leak around the Oil pressure sending unit. Which I fixed yesterday. And while I had it pulled out and running. I noticed that on the side of the block there is a Petcock valve that has a “T” on top of it and a Spring on the bottom. And was dripping Anti-Freeze very slowly. When You turn the T either way. Antifreeze will come out the front of it. So the spring on the bottom keeps pressure on the valve keeping it closed. And must be getting weak. There is a couple of fittings / Adapters I guess between the block and the actual valve. I am thinking about removing the valve and putting a brass plug in to seal it. Either that or Shim the spring to increase the pressure of it. This valve must be there to drain the block completly since the Radiator for the unit is in another bay.
Has anyone else had a problem with this valve ? What is the proper name for it ?
Thanks,
Rocky
