By hooking up a 24 volt battery charger to the evap blower, after unhooking it this way you don’t have to run the coach.

It looks like he’s force filling the inside of the bus with air and soaping up the outside and watching for bubbles to form to show where the water leaks are.??

when you pressurize in inside of the coach you can then soap the coach in area where you have leaks inside

Prevost does it this way to verify the leaks on the XLII stainless,thet just open the evaporator bay and crank the Detroit and turn on the OTR and spray bubbles,it is obvious where the leaks are.

That method works on any exterior leaks, including the roof.
It requires opening the system to outside air instead of recirculating air. According to Tom when he used that method to check a coach he had the pressure created was so strong he could hardly close the door.

I have also seen somewhere that one can use an electric fan blowing in through one of the toll windows. Those of us without OTR Air ( I’m guessing the vast majority) would be interested in that method. It would be easy enough to gasket a squirrel cage fan up to the driver’s toll window. I wounder what sort of pressure/flow in needed? Does anyone have the specs on the OTR blower?

Prevost does exactly what John describes, however the blower is a very high output blower as opposed to a fan type device that just moves air.
I would guess for coach owners an electric leaf blower might do the job.

Speaking of windows, we were going across Texas through a heavy crosswind and my wife noticed that the passenger side salon window was flexing enough to see significant daylight along the edge.
Is this normal? Someone said that the windows are fastened top and bottom?

I don’t know if our window mechanisms are the same but my side window didn’t seem to be pulled tight by the mechanism. I readjusted it and it closes tighter and the small amount of noise it made while driving went away.
If your side window was on the downwind side there was likely negative outside pressure on that side of the coach compared to the pressure inside the coach. Based on the size of the window even a slight difference in the respective pressures, as little as 1/4 pound can be the equivalent of exerting as much as 100 pounds of force pushing outward on the window.
Can you adjust the mechanism to have the window pull closed a little tighter?

is the daylight around the opening window area, or the frame of the window. If it is the frame of the window you should be able to push it from outside and see it move

Jeff, where was the leak? Between the body framing and panel or window? If it is the delamination of that panel how are you going to fix it?

the gap was approximately 1/4 ” at the most. In the center of the window. There was a very strong crosswind.
I talked to someone late yesterday in Nashville that said that the bolts at the bottom of the window could be in need of tightening.

No, I had to remove the screen to adjust it, but it was at the bottom of the window. We might have two different types of window actuators. Jeff, do you know if Prevost had different actuators?
