Another Newbie
Hello All,
Yes, another newbie to the forum…..
Just a little background. I’ve been camping all my life, the last 20yrs or so in motorhomes with my bride. We plan to do this for as long as I can. I’m pretty handy and have fix things that have broken on all of my rigs. Anything I can’t do I don’t hesitate to take to someone who can. Altho I don’t like to…..
Since the bride and I feel that we will always own a coach of some sort or another I’ve started to poke around. I really like the looks of the XLII’s and think we’ll buy one over the next year or so. We want the stabiliy and comfort from a Prevost. I’ve got a few questions.
- Outside of this site, are there any other good sites to search for a Prevost that you can recommend?
- We are mainly interested in a 40 foot single or double slide. Are they hard to find?
- Are there any company’s out there that do conversions that we should stay away from? One that comes to mind is Country Coach. I know there are others.
- I’ve read a lot about the XLII’s having delam issue’s, is this common? Should I worry about this?
- Not really too important, but with a 40′ rig and a DD60, what kind of mileage can I expect? Current MH gets about 8mpg depending on how I run it. It’s a Ford V10 gasser thats 14yrs old and getting tired. Really need to get a nice ride for now and in the future.
- We plan to retire in about 5yrs, is it a good idea to only put about 5k miles on a coach a year expecting it to be there when we retire? We plan to run it more then, but I’d like to have it too learn from and bring it up to good standards if it needs to be. .
Thanks in advance for any and all replies….I’m sure I’ll have more questions.
