They are an authorized Featherlite repair facility, but I haven’t seen anything on this site about them.

This is my bias showing, but I never get a warm feeling about letting a shop with white RVs in the lot work on a Prevost.
This is especially true when it comes to service work on systems such as the electrical.

I’ll keep you posted in around two weeks.
The owner said they’re working on two Prevosts now, both different converters. It’s just more convenient for everyone if quality repair facilities are located in various States that can work on the chassis or house.

That’s true, Tim; but if they mess it up for you that can be very in-convenient.
I’ve read a lot of horror stories on here.

My 12v Aux compressor is not working. Checked breakers and it looks like I have power to the compressor, although I don’t know if there is a separate relay or fuse. Still a no go. Not a huge deal since it only controls three accessories, but one of them are my gen air bags and I would like to keep those aired up.
This is not “Prevost” specific as many truck facilities work on compressors. This facility is just on our way from NM to KS which makes it an easy stop.

That is work you can do yourself unless there is a major disassembly process required for access. If you can build a house for HFH you are well equipped to deal with issues like that.

I think changing the compressor is fairly straight forward, but if the compressor is bad, I was thinking about switching over to a 110v compressor, which may then also require a separate tank which may or may not fit in the same place.
If if you or Tom or another tech savvy PC member can dos video on replacing an Aux compressor that would be extremely helpful.
FYI: Building a house uses different skill sets, but I see where you’re coming from.

I may be wrong, but if you want to switch to a 110V to replace a 12V compressor the process is not difficult, but does require some planning. Step one is to determine the location of the new compressor. If it is in the same spot as the old one and dimensionally there are no issues, the next step is to insure there is a way to secure it in position, and if at all possible to provide its support with some type of vibration isolators.
Once that is figured out you have to determine where you will have a switchable 120V circuit dedicated to the compressor begin and end. Do you have to run new wires from the 120V panel, or is there a nearby circuit available? Is it protected with a circuit breaker? Will the compressor end be a receptacle or will it be hard wired into the compressor?
Finally, you need to connect the air discharge to the tank with some form of moisture trap or dryer and a check valve to prevent backfeeding compressed air. The line to the dryer has to be of sufficient length to allow the air to cool, or made of copper to conduct the heat away from the air in a shorter distance. The tank will not be affected with a change of compressor unless its size is going to interfere with the compressor.
It is not particularly difficult, but the hard part is the wiring, especially if it has to be routed from the electric panel.
If I were to make the switch I would plan it to be in a protected location, but with fresh air supply, and maybe some sound deadening. I would try to route wires through existing ducts or raceways so I did not have to fish it through any finished area. I would support the wiring if needed and make sure it cannot be chafed or damaged.
The dryer or water trap is essential and replacing the compressor is the opportunity to insure the aux air is dry when it enters the tank and coach system.
Just a general comment……..the generator air bags, from the pressure regulator to the air bags should be an air tight system with a check valve ahead of the regulator. Once inflated they should rarely, if ever need air.

I don’t believe I have a check valve there since my gen air bags did go down. Will have to address that as well at some point.
I I can attach a new compressor where my current one is which is on the back of my gen. The water traps are already installed on the other side of the bus. I have two for the aux air. Looking at my compressor, there is one air line out, and the two 12v wires. The easiest thing is to locate a compressor with the same dimensions so as to fit in the current holes.

Make sure it is possible to get the 120V power to the compressor.
