American Fleet/Overhead
Need some help. Heading to American Fleet to get the overhead done. Have already talked with Brian, know I have jake and will be pulling engine to do the work. Yes I know you can go through the floor but unless someone can tell me an easy and quick way to do this, sliding the engine out is just as easy per Brian. What precautions should I take? Primarily concerned about no power being available to the bus for a couple days. Should ALL battery switches be turned off? Inverter disconnect, 12v and 24v house disconnect? Thanks for any help.

I don’t have a Marathon, but if you have any power available at all, including a non-GFCI 120V circuit you can keep enogh power into the coach to at least keep the refrig working and keep the house batteries in float. The chassis will be OK. You have some phantom loads, but with fully charged house batteries you will not need more than that amount of current.
If you do have to shut down the coach make sure you find out from Marathon the sequence they require. All our coaches of the vintage you have typically have shut down procedures. Mine has a specific sequence and failure to follow the sequence can damage some items.
