Alternator or electrical problem
On the way back last weekend noticed my bus air on passenger cut off and then I looked at the voltage gauge and it dropped down to 22 volts. Pulled in rest area and the positive cable back of alternator was melted off. It look like a mig welder got ahold of it-It melted the stud off the back of the alternator where the cable attaches. It continued to run until I could get it home. How can I check the alternator and voltage regulator to see what caused it? Has new starting batteries but house batteries may need to be exchanged. Would bad house batteries cause this or bad voltage regulator or bad alternator? Anyone have any suggestions?
