Alternator Dash Light “ON”
I am working on a 2009 Prevost X3-45 Bus, with Detroit D60 Dual Alternator system from Bosch. So far we have replaced both Alternators, the harness which goes from the alternators to main harness. still getting the dash light ON. I did find Connector 17 in the Junction box was missing the 2 270 OHM resistors called exciter alternator Resistor. I installed new C17, the light went away for about 30 min and came back ON. now I am stuck. any help would be much appreciated.

Did the resistor burn out and open the circuit? I’d measure the resistance across it with a DVOM.

Just curious……..what is the alternator output voltage?

thank you for help, it was fuse 98 15amp was burned out. with keyOn engine OFF i had 24.9v on pin 2, from each alt.

So problem all along was a fuse ? Where is this fuse located ?

fuse is located on rear junction box fuse panel.

HI im searching for a fix on my dash 75 A light. came on and i have been chasing the problem with no fix yet. if anyone has any tips. i have replaced the monitor. cleaned load tested batts. changed relay in engine panel. swapped r-33 relay in frt panel. looked for a break in the field wire to the frt. im lost at this point. anyone been there ? before. also both alt. putting out correctly. the two vanners are passing power. looking for input. thanks

Have you checked the ignition switch ?
They have a history of causing strange issues.

Is that a bus air coach? Also does this have both 75 amp and 270 amp alt

no over the road air. just cruise airs. and i have not changed the ing sw.

and yes has the two alt.

Terry. Test your small alternator. That’s the one that charges your chassis batteries.
