Allison Fluid Change Question
Prior to draining an Allison transmission for a fluid and filter change, is it normal necessary procedure to drive it to circulate and warm the fluid?
I have always done so with an engine in advance of changing its oil, yet uncertain if should do so with a transmission since it does not have a pan where contaminants would settle…??? Or would contaminants settle in various places inside a transmission???

Be aware at operating temperatures of at least 180 as soon as the plug is removed the oil comes out quickly and serious burns could happen.
