  • air pressure increaser for filling tires?

Posted by Chas on July 12, 2017 at 5:55 pm

Can’t find the thread that discussed building your own air pressure increaser so you can fill the tires off the coach air system.

Anyone have the details or link to the thread?

Would rather use what I have then go buy an aircompressor that’s good for 150psi (really only need 110, but the coach is only good for 100).

    Thanks

Isn’t your engine compressor putting out 120+ Charles? It takes a little time, but fanning the brakes to make the compressor run and sneeze will work.

    Charles,

Use the coach compressor as Truk wrote about. It’s clean dry air from your bus system. Everytime your compressor sneeze’s you have more then enough air to top off.. Just be careful you don’t machine gun the brake pedal lowering pressure to kick in engine compressor.

Charles the device was (is) called a pressure doubler.

It has the ability to deliver half the volume of air at roughly twice the pressure.

But as Tom and Al pointed out if you wait for the compressor on the engine to sneeze and then want to top off your tires you will accomplish the same. It is only your steer tires that need that pressure with the other requiring much less.
