  • Air Loss ?

Posted by Art on December 17, 2022 at 10:26 am

Bought the bus almost 6 years ago and the air system was not so good, In a 24 hour all 3 air gauges went to zero. I got to know the system Pretty well ? The air schematics were a big help, I replaced all the Norgren valves the air dryer, and so on, It still holds air pretty well but lately it’s cold now and it is loosing a few pounds during the night, But it’s loosing air from all 3 gauges evenly, that never happened before, So looking at Air schematics for that to do that it would have to be in the parking brake system I think ?. Nice with Prevost the air lines are 5 different colors of air lines Rouge (Red) Secondary Front air – Vert (Green) Primary Rear Air – Jaune (Yellow) Parking Brake – Bleu (Blue) Drive Mode – Noir (Black) Accessories. The tanks in rear there is 1 Wet Tank – 2 Primary tanks – In the front there is 1 secondary tank and 1 Accessory tank. In the rear there is a check valves on the main Primary tank on the supply side of it, the 2nd Primary tank is extra air, In the front the Secondary tank there is a check valve on the supply side of it also, and Accessory Tank there is a 75 lb Protection valve on supply side of it, So when airing up at 75 lb’s it starts getting air to fill it up. The system is set up for brake’s is #1 Priority so if you blow a black accessory line and loose all your air in Acc system you still have 75 psi in the Primary and secondary system to get to the side of the road, That is why they put those check valves on the main tanks. So I think? loosing air evenly on all 3 gauges the yellow lines coming that come off the Double Shuttle valve in front (yellow) Parking system draws air off of the Primary and the Secondary tanks and it will bleed air from acc tank also, I think that is the one of the only places where the systems are tied together, the Brake peddle valve both green and red lines go to but I think they stay separate. Jon please let me know if I’m going in the right direction?? I replaced the PP1 valve (Parking) one off the 1st things I did 6 years ago. Could be the PP1 valve is leaking a little.
