The insert goes inside the Tubing.

Of the many compression fittings I have purchased over the years some came with the tubing insert and some did not. The Swagelok fittings did not come with the insert and unlike other brands they have had a zero percent leak rate, even on 1/4″ tubing.

A little different question but same subject has anyone used the plastic ferrel in place of the brass ones. Reason helped friend replace a leveling valve and Bendix supplied plastic ferrels .Are they DOT approved?

No, stay away from the plastic ones. They don’t supply enough support for the tubing.

Hello John, what fitting would I need for the aux air gauge on the dash in a 1999 H3-45 Featherlite if you might know? I’m thinking 1/4″ female npt to a barbed end? Or is it 1/4″ female npt to 1/4″ push pull end? Thanks,
