Posted by Jacky on August 3, 2015 at 4:07 pm

New to Marathon/Prevost about 2 months. Learning much from this GREAT site. Found this leak and need some help. Where can I purchase these fittings (white & orange color) and what is the proper way to remove and install? Any and all input is appreciated. And yes, I have signed up for the October seminar.air leak here

The best place is one that has DOT air fittings available. A truck part store, NAPA, WW Grainger, Fastenal, etc.

Bring the one that leaks and have its equivalent provided. Do not use Home Depot or Lowes or other similar stores because our air systems, regardless of whether they are primary, secondary or accessory should all use DOT approved or certified fittings.

With fitting replacement trim about 1/4 inch so your new fitting will seal against good hose.

We don’t have your home port on your message so I’ll suggest if you live in a large town there is probably a pneumatic supply parts house somewhere. The fittings are used in many trucks.

What is your rate of leak on Marathon AUX air in 24 hours based on compressor cycling ?

Welcome to PC …many Marathon owners here, lots of good info and a few opinions ….smile.

I changed all mine over to brass= less leaks with temp change. DOT truck supply will have both types.

    JD,

You’ll have a breaker or switch labeled compressor. Check that tank for a drain, it could really be bad contaminated with rust and water. Al can tell you more about his pancake tank.

I have drained the tank twice over the past two weeks and did not have any rusty water. Hopefully not a problem there.
