I use my flood light all the time. Anytime I’m on a back
road at night I’ll set the light out in front of my normal beams to give myself a
little more time to react to any hazards in the road. The last time I drove the
stretch between Waco and Houston 164 to I 45 in TX where the deer are “huge” I noticed that
the deer would run the other way when they saw me coming. They were scared to
death with what probably looked like some sort of alien space ship coming
their way! I think the floodlight is invaluable for safety reasons alone. And it
came in handy one time for a work light too.

Jon… we use it at night to shine on the ocean and watch our kids playing out there on the beach… the ocean is magnificent under the spotlight at night !!

There was a story behind my use of the search light.

I had my 87 coach and it had quad sealed beam lights, driving lights and the spotlight on the front roof.

I had left the house about 3:00 AM and had just gotten on the interstate. A lone trucker went by in the opposite direction and on the CB he just said there is a guy driving eastbound in the west bound lanes.

In about a minute I saw headlights and couldn’t tell if they were coming at me in my lanes or in the eastbound lanes. I soon realized the car was in the westbound lanes (mine) heading east. I lit every light on the front of the coach including the spotlight and dropped my speed to near walking speed. Sure enough he was in my lanes, but I think my lights were so strong he easily saw me and went around me.

Only time I ever used the lights other than in my garage playing around.

In the past twenty years I have used my spot/flood light probably a half a dozen times. All, I think, on dark rural roads looking for a side road leading into a Bluegrass Festival campground or a number on a parking spot. A couple of times I can remember in bad weather. That’s not much use over a long time, but when I needed it, it was worth it’s weight in gold. I’m still subject to finding myself in those predicaments on occasion so I plan to keep it in real good working order.
