  • Air hissing @ door

Posted by Ronald on March 20, 2017 at 8:33 am

    All,

Nice weather here in Greenville, SC yesterday so I took thr coach out for a r45 minutes run, and to some general inside clean up. I love be in the coach taking this thing down the road. Just wonderful.

After I shut the coach down and was exiting I heard air hissing at the door. Any thoughts? I do not hear air hissing anywhere else as a walk around the coach before closing her up.

Is it coming from the air operated door lock?

    Jon,

Would the sound come from the door itself or from the panel beside the co-pilot?

You have an air operated door lock bolt that when engaged pulls the door shut a little tighter to minimize wind noise at the door when moving. It is in a little enclosure at the passengers right elbow. There should be no air operated devices in the door.

Hello, Jon. I am going to remove the switch panel to get a good look at what I can. All I know at this point is that as I was exiting the coach was the unmistakeable sound of escpasing air. If it is the door air lock, who should I contact to get the replacement part, if that is what is needed?

Ron, it could be a fitting going into the cylinder that is leaking or maybe the door lock cylinder is leaking. Until you can get at it and isolate where the air leak is coming from you won’t know what is needed to correct the problem.

    Ron,

Just had this same problem fixed and Jon is correct, it is the fitting at the door lock. There are two of them on my coach and I suggest you replace both while in there.
