  • Agua-Hot – Ever Wonder What’s Under the Cover

Posted by Archived on April 4, 2012 at 7:32 pm

If you ever wondered what an Aqua-Hot looks like under the cover, here’s a couple pictures I thought were pretty interesting. They claim the fresh water supply can’t get contaminated by coolant, and this helps to understand why.

I’ve seen these coil wraps used on lots of things but the best use IMHO is…White Lighting. Not that living in Missouri I would be a expert at that thing.

I can see it now …..Truks White Lighting

Thanks for the pictures. Have had 2 aqua hots and am thankful I’ve never had to go that deep. Does away with the concern about the mixing of fresh water with anti-freeze.

    Good post Truk,

The picture of the Aqua Hot with the insulation blanket removed and copper pipes exposed brings back some memories (bad memories).

A couple of years ago the steel tank on my Aqua Hot rusted thru and it was leaking anti-freeze. The only solution was to replace the tank. I called Aqua Hot to order a replacement tank: no dice! They informed me that they would only sell a tank DIRECTLY to a dealer, not to an individual. So I asked Newell to order a replacement tank and they installed it for me (at the direction of Vehicle Systems, Inc.)

If anyone has this problem get your checkbook ready; it won’t be cheap.

Don’t get me wrong. I like my Aqua Hot, it does a great job for what it is intended. It’s just replacing that tank is a real bummer!

Tom, you remember a couple months ago when we were at Riverbend, and I was trying to see where the exhaust went to from the Webasto, Well it turns out that the spark arrestor was missing ,must have fallen off? any way, when they worked on the fan clutch they saw it gone and replaced it 300. I did not get a chance to see it so do not know what they look like. Any body got a photo of one?

Glad you got it worked out and it probably looks like a muffler.
