  • A thanks to all

As my signature states, I’m looking for my first Prevost. I have been reading each and every thread, comment, thought, suggestion and information like a sponge. I have to say that at first I thought to myself, “I have no business looking to own such a powerful and complicated beast” The thought of having to learn everything is quite daunting. But then I had an epiphany of sorts…..1st: no one is born with this knowlege, it’s all learned, 2nd: if I were to read about all the complicated systems of a modern car, I would also feel humble, and last, but in my opinion, the most valuable: the knowlege that Jon and everyone else cares to share, instruct, and explain in plain English is motivation to keep looking! So a big warm thank you to everyone on this board that loves sharing their knowlege.

    Gerard,

I am also new to this site and a brand new prevost owner. I thought I was ready for this beast having been in the trucking industry most of my life. Not so. I am going thru a steep learning curve. However, nothing is insurmountable. Although the systems look very complex, they are really quite simple if you study the manuals and diagrams. As an example, the level low system appears very complex but really isn’t. After reading Jon’s article on the system and studying the air system diagrams it became very clear how it works (or supposed to) I think I have read every thread on this site at least once. This site is the greatest thing since apple pie !

I was shopping for a late model “plastic” coach when I discover I could buy an older Prevost conversion for about the same money. Having owned several plastic coaches with very poor quality and craftsmenship, buying the older Prevost was a no brainer. We travel with friends that have a new Winnebago Tour. Top of the line. $450K. When we pull into an RV park everyone walks straight to the Prevost and asks a million questions even though its 20 years old and cost one fourth of the Winnebago. Grandkids call it the “Bon Jovi bus”. Although I have had to make some repairs, I still have no buyers remorse. This site will give you all the guidance you need to find the Coach that fits your needs and what to look for to determine condition.

I live in Choctaw,so if you would like to come look at mine and talk bus, your are more than welcome. I am in the process of “zeroing out” the suspension system so you can look at the dirty side as well !

I attended a POG Rally a couple years ago and learned a lot. I put my search on hold for a while but hope to start looking again this fall.

By all means come to OKC.I attended a rally in Branson as a very new owner and meeting these guys and gals and picking their brains is the best information source on the planet. By the way beer is great incentive with the smart guys.
