  • A switch?

I have not posted for some time…….this one deserves a post.

So I go to start the coach…nothing. NO click not a thing. Turns out that this failure was the rear/front start switch which, by the way failed in the front run position. I took my handy dandy meter out (not from Harbor Freight) and checked everything from soup to nuts. Battery voltage, went through the schematic obtained from Prevost…still nothing. At a loss I called Prevost Support and went through the ladder of check this and that with him for several hours….this went so far as getting into the Allison box looking for a fault in the neutral safety switch.Hours later the Prevost Tech called for a punt…trouble is that I couldn’t take it to Prevost because I could not make it go!

I yielded and callled a highly recommended guy who wentt through the same drill….turns out that the front/rear run swithch failed…this after hours and hours of troubleshooting.

Just thought I would pass this along….strangest thing I have ever encountered but…if it happenes to me, itmay well happen to someone else. So odd things do happen……

Common problem on the XL’s Fly Dude, it’s happened to quite a few.

I had the similar experience a few months ago after hours of trouble shooting. It was a toggle switch that cut’s off the chassis batteries inside the side engine door. The engine won’t start with a bad toggle switch.
