  • A great new purchase

    Hi everyone,

I just took delivery of a new aux air compressor. It is a GMC or California air 1650-A. I took out my pancake compressor and replaced it with this one. It is so quite that I we (Jan and I ) don’t hear it in the steering bay when it runs.

    Dale,

I’ve been thinking about a back-up for my aux, what is the cut-in and cut-out PSI and is it adjustable?

My aux air goes right into a air filter then to a manifold that supplies air to level the coach and air for the air cylinders on bay and steer doors. I have a valve that I can run air to the supply tank when we get ready for travel, I air the whole bus system up before starting the engine. I have never liked running my engine while all the tanks and bags get full.

note; I turn the key on the last five minutes before travel, to allow the ride height to stablize.

I have tweeked my so it cuts out at 126 and in at 96. Factory settings were out at 118 and on at 85, this is on my unit. The book said cut out at 120.

Jan and I were sitting outside this morning having coffee and the compressor cycled, it sounded like the water pump running, what a nice change. The pancake I would turn off at night as not to disturb the people next to us, or if people were sitting outside. I have read between 55-60 dB’s or decibels.

    Jim,

Instead of trashing the site, ask if you have a problem.

    Jin,

When I open my steer bay, it’s right there. I had moved my aux tank from it’s original place to the center and back wall of the spare tire bay.
