a/c filters
I have been trying to clean or replace my a/c filters in my 40 ft. 02 XL 2 from American coach and have been to two different Prevost restoration places and neither one had a clue as to how to get at them and Im afraid to damage the ceiling panels by yanking the panels. Does anyone have any ideas? I am trying to send some pics but unfortunately Im electronically challenged also. Thanks in advance

in my 99 Country Coach the panels that cover each of th A/C filter locations are plastic mirrors that are held in place with the (Super strong) Velcro strips. Really hard to pull apart but I have done it. Hope that helps.

I understand some converters didn’t use filters and the ceiling panels aren’t installed to be easily removed.

They have a lot of expertise with Angola and American coaches and might be able to give you coach specific information.

Thanks guys, this has me stumped. I even pried down one of the panels and took a look with a small camera and its solid plywood up there. I will call Panterra and thanks for the input.

Red, please post here if you find out. I have a new to me 2000 MCI converted by american coach and have the same question. I have weak flow through the living room vents and can’t see how to get to any filters. Thanks.

Well Bryan I talked to Don Wolf at Panterra and he guessed that the ceiling was up with xmas tree clips and that there may not have been any filters as we suspect. I did try to pull the panel down but it doesnt want to come down and Im not gonna destroy the ceiling until I absolutely have to. Im just not as brave as I was in my younger days. I do appreciate all the input from the folks on here. Its really nice to hear from other folks who may have run into these problems before. Its real important to those of us with orphan coaches .

Seems like a bad design but my 91 converted in 92 doesn’t have filters. Only condenser you can see is overhead in front panel of coach. Mid ship and back hidden with no access panels.

I have a tool to pull down the clips if you want to try that, you know we are only 3 blocks away.

Thanks, Red. Can someone post a picture of a christmas tree clip and describe how it holds up the ceiling? I must be dense, but I am not seeing it.

I dont have any pics of the clips but basically they are the same kind of clips that automakers use to hold door panels on your cars.

Thanks Red. I can visualize door clips. I use an artificial Christmas tree that doesn’t have clips of any kind…
How long have you had your bus? I’ve had mine 3 months and am still figuring out how stuff works.

Got it in Janurary of this year, its definitely different from any of my fiberglas coaches. Sorry This took so long to answer, been under the weather. good luck with your coach. Also thanks Hisch for the offer of your tool. I have one myself. Love my coach and as soon as I figure it out I will love it a whole lot more LOL
