99 marathon door bell transformer location
help. anyone ever looked for the door bell transformer. i have tested the door button and the door bell both test good. no action. im looking for the transformer to ck it. 99 marathon xlv #547 . i also have been chasing the problem with a 110v plug under the upper cabinet to the rt of the kitchen sink. wire # 133 think it was hot and used a vac that popped it it is a gfi. looking ahead of it but must be hiding really good place. just thought would ask maybe someone has had the same thing. thanks. terry

Just a guess…take a look in the cabinet under the kitchen sink? You will need to remove the pull-out rear wall of the cabinet.

THANK YOU. talked with marathon. transformer not used. door bell is 16 volt. found the fuse on the back wall under the sink. is good. thanks for the reply.

Our coach has GFI outlets in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and in the bays
down below.

Check the door bell wire where it passes by the door hinge. Sometimes the wire gets pinched off at the hinge.

I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE INFO ON THE DOOR BELL, JUST GOT AROUND TO LOOKING THIS AM. FOUND THE WIRES AT THE HINGE WERE BROKEN FROM BENDING WHEN THE DOOR OPENS AND SHUT. JUST AGE. THIS IS WHY I LOG ON OFTEN. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP.

Great you found it. The other wire to keep an eye on is the electric door lock. If just the entry door lock stops operating, it is the same issue. Of course, as you “fix” the broken wire, it gets shorter and has to bend even more causing it to fatigue again. At some point, you’ll need to splice in an extra length of wire.

THANKS AGAIN. i did find the lock wires bad. added some wire to the 4 wires two for the lock and two for the window shade.. what operates the electric door lock. ? the alarm key fob will not maybe disabled. i have used the dash switch but only activates the air lock. thanks again.
