96 Country Coach wacky light switching…
I’m reaching out to anyone I think might be able to help with this and was just wondering if anyione here might have any idea what is wrong with my Country Coach light switching?
My bus is a 1996 CC XL40, CC number 60312. Most electronics seem to be working as designed. I do have a couple of lights that will turn on with the wall switches but will not turn back off (unless I turn off the master for the domestic battery disconnect). When the master is turned back on, the lights will be off until I use the wall switch to turn them on. The lights that seem to stick are the main bathroom ceiling light, the shower light, and occasionally the bedroom ceiling light.
Bedroom ceiling lights that won’t turn off – there are buttons marked bedroom ceiling on the switch panels of the bedroom, the bathroom, and the front entry overhead area. At each of these locations the buttons stay green, no color change, they only look orange if you hold the buttons down. If I press and hold any of these three buttons the bedroom lights do seem to go through a stepped dimming process. But I cannot turn them off by use of interior switches.
Bathroom ceiling lights – there are buttons labeled bathroom ceiling lights at the switch panels of the bathroom, and entry overhead area. These switches do not dim the bathroom lights. They do not change color (only when held). They turn on, but do not turn off the bathroom lights.
Shower light (one panel location.. bathroom) has the same problem as stated above.
Wardrobe light (one panel location.. bathroom) has same problem as stated above.
With Domestic Power turned off all lights on ECC boards 1-5 are off.
With Domestic Power turned back on all green lights on boards 1-5 are lit. No other lights are lit on 1-5.
When I pressed the bedroom ceiling light button (one press) I noticed that both the bedroom ceiling lights AND the bathroom ceiling lights came on inside the coach. Down in the bay; Board 1 has a red light lit (2nd one from the top) AND Board 2 has a red light lit (4th from the top, lowest one).
I then cycled Domestic Power to get those lights off again (the only way to turn them off) and then pressed the bathroom ceiling light button one time. The bathroom lights came on as expected. Down in the bay the only red light on is 2nd card, bottom light. Same one lit prior on this card. For some reason i noticed I can actually turn the bathroom light off now by the front overhead switch if I haven’t turned on anything else. Playing around I went to the bathroom switch panel and if I just press to illuminate the switches it does light the switch lehends to readable but that same press also lit the bedroom wardrobe lights. It’s acting really wacky, sorry.
I cycled Domestic Power again then turned on the bathroom labeled wardrobe lights. They came on but the bathroom ceiling lights also came on. Down under in the ECC; red lights at 1st board second position from top and also 2nd board fourth position from top.
Sorry this is such a lengthy read! With MANY thanks for any ideas to try,
