60 series turbo wrap
Haven’t been on for awhile. Been getting self overhauled. Back to bus building soon. Denny a friend offered to wrap my turbo and air charger . Both hot and cool side from air cleaner to cooler to intake and from exhaust to turbo (hot side) to muffler for me. With some new red stuff he says is much better than the old sort of gray blanket stuff I have been using. I ask well this is going to cost me??? He said I’lll sew it up and install it for another piece of that BBQ chicken. I quess I can afford that. Will probably be 4 or 5 weeks but will post pictures. We have been friends for over 40 yrs. He is a insulator by trade on power plants. Other wise bus is sort of on hold. need 6 weeks to finish. everything here. Just need to get able. Anyone else to share progress????? Bob

Just curious as to the need to wrap the supply air to the turbo. Our coaches breathe in a lot of air. So much in fact that it is able to be measured in pounds. That suggests to me that the velocity of the air from the air cleaner to the turbo inlet is such the air is not going to gain any temperature between the air cleaner and the turbo. The reason for the wrap on the exhaust (not the pressurized air) is to minimize the transfer of exhaust temperatures into the engine compartment. Those temperatures can easily exceed 1000 degrees F.
