3day festival Generator quits
Relatively new to the PC and to my bus (10/14). Just my Luck! First big trip with my new to me 2007 Marathon H and the gen quits after 3 hours. 20kw Kohler with 675 hours. Oil ok, temp ok. Starts and runs for 10 seconds and then stops giving a UU code. Talked to Jeff who had me do a manual start with same result. UU apparently means under voltage. Any ideas or suggestions or we are going to have to leave 🙁 any thoughts would be welcomed. Thanks

Need more info Chris.
Have you run it before for extended time?
Did you check belt tension?
If Jeff couldn’t do anything, I don’t know.
Was it smoking when running for 3 hours?
Was it laboring when it was running?
I’ll look at my manual and see if I can come up with something.

thanks for responding. Incredibly stupid problem just solved. Found a repair guy to come. Super nice to come after hours. Priceco Supply in Baton Rouge. Went through a lot of tests. Crawled into the back of the compartment and found a small 1amp auto fuse that had vibrated out of its hole. That fuse powered the electronics. Fuse in, problem solved. Very humbled I am as to how little a thing could have ruined my trip. Very costly too but less than ruining a set of batteries. I feel kind of stupid for missing something so simple but I’ll know next time LOL!

Don’t beat yourself up too bad. Look at it this, that repair guy feels like the smartest guy around and you made his week end. Most of us learned something to boot.

Good catch on solving the problem. If you get a chance could you post a picture of the item that caused the little repair bill.

Glad you got your problem solved but, for future reference, I’ve never had a generator problem send me home. If my Kohler quits, I switch over to my back-up generator, the Detroit Diesel Series 60. A bit less convenient, but it’s always gotten me through.

Glad it worked out and didn’t cut your weekend short. I’ve always felt stupid when something so easy is pointed out by a repairman but hey, that’s how we live and learn.

This story should remind us all to methodically go through EVERYTHING! The cause of the problem could be something big … or relatively minor. Leave NO stone unturned.

Finally got back to the coach and remembered to take the picture. The top small fuse is the that caused all my worry. It had vibrated itself loose leading to no voltage to the coach.

This is a great place to get help and air your troubles. My genset quit also just when I needed it. Jeff Rowe walked me through it and the problem was solved. I had ran down past 1/4 tank of fuel. Once you hit 1/4 your genset and wabasto can not work. Engine first…… Heck I didn’t know that!! Just another greenhorn mistake. As you can guess, that will never happen again, and if your genset quits again, I bet you check that fuse first. Just be glad that is all it was!!
