Question for those who have went from 315 to 365. I can understand the benefit of changing the steers because of heavy axel weight (mine currently sits at 18,500), what I am questioning is what is the benefit of changing the tags?

365 carry more weight hence more safety margin on the steers. 365 have been had to get over the past years so 356s on the tag give you emergency spares for the steers.

Emergency spare to get you off the road, not down the road

I like the idea of getting more margin for my steers given I am pushing the advertised limit. My thought was to possibly switch to 365 on steer and keep 315 on drive and tag, and use my 315 spare if ever needed for the steer to get me off the road. My hesitation at this point is my Marathon has custom fenders and I do not know if I have the clearance for the wider tire.

Just my $.02 worth, but unless you really need them for the weight capacity, avoid making the change. 365’s are much harder to find, cost more, require different wheels, and transmit a lot more road noise. Had them on our last fibreglas coach and now that we’re searching for a Prevost, hope to find one that doesn’t need them. Bob

Not sure this is a 100% true but,

I believe Prevost commissioned Michelin tire company to make the 365 for Prevost and had a 7 year exclusive on the tire when it first came out. The 7 years have long passed but Prevost still gets first dibs off the production line of 365s, meaning 365s will always be available through Prevost although most likely at a premium.

I recently visited prevost in Hayward ca for brake issues. I was also due for ask new tires as they’d hit their 6yr old age. Prevost has a sale on them. I asked if they were 2026 tires. They replied yes. After install and getting on the hwy prevost called me and said I needed to return as they’d installed 365 size on all my dual tires. After going back and getting the correct size 315 put on all 4 fuels I

noticed they were 2024’s and the other tag and steering are 2025. Wonder if I’ll very a discount?! They also dinged up my polished wheels pretty bad.. and that experience wasn’t the worst of the visit. Anyone know a knowledgeable mech shop in nor cal.?
