3 roof air in 103* Weather
There has been much discussion on bus air conditioning. We have just rolled into Moab, Ut, at 103*. I am very please that we are holding a 30* difference. Not bad. Better than I had expected from the previous forum posts. Now, I would need another unit if I wanted to hang meat. If I was spending the summer here or other hot area, more would probably be better. Since we generally chase 75*, 3 units work for us.
The front of the coach with the large windows heats up more than the back of the bus. So I added a small $15 fan mid coach to move more cool air up front. Only needed over about 90*.
My bottom line is that unless you expect to spend all your time in 95-105* weather, then don’t be afraid to buy a 3 rooftop air conditioner unit.

Yes our 97 Royal has 3 roof Dometic Penguin AC’s and they work well also,

3 roof airs beats the crap out of 3 Cruisair so you are miles ahead. Yes, Bus Air is likely better but over kill in most cases and takes up a lot of bay storage space.

Roy, go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a roll of bubble wrap style insulation. Cut out a shape to fit your windshields, slightly oversize, and push it into position on the inside. It will dramatically reduce the heat gain up front.

Les has a good idea but a more elegant solution is to have the privacy shades made with a white color material facing the windows.
If you wish to loo outside then the sun screens applied to the outside of the front windows also are very effective at minimizing heat into the coach.

If we were going to be here any longer, I would get the reflective stuff. Right now we have our shades pulled down and it helps a tremendous amount. We leave in the morning for Breckenridge, Colorado, where the temperature today is 75°. Maybe we will come back to Moab in April. We are parked next to Olivia.
