  • 24v interior led lighting

Posted by John & Mary Ellen on November 4, 2014 at 6:59 pm

Replaced all my interior 24v halagon lights with extended pin led lights in my 95 Liberty. The lighting is great, much

brighter and produces very little heat. All is well until the lights are turned on at which time the TV reception goes

from a sharp picture to a graniney picture. This happens both our Direct TV and Cable hook up. If anyone has

experienced a similar problem and been able to correct it without giving up the LEDS , I’ d like to hear from you.

Do you have any dimmers on the lights that cause this situation?

Generally speaking, interference with televisions is a ground issue with the coax outer ground and a dimmer or high ripple from battery chargers under a high current charge to low or bad batteries.

I would turn all dimmers to maximum intensity, and see what happens. If you turn some lights off, does the simptom improve at all? Also, check the coax connection to the television, a distribution switchbox, VCR, sat receiver, etc, to make sure the outer metal surfaces of connections are not in contact with foil insulation or the bus frame.

    John,

Ben is the man to listen to.

BTW, are you still in Wisconsin or have you escaped?
