The pandemic that has pretty well screwed up rallies, access to RV resort facilities like the club house and generally has made things less than fun has been joined in Orange Beach at Pandion Ridge with so much continuing rain we are outfitting coaches with pontoons.

Our coach is positioned so it faces “the lake” which is really a man made hole in the dirt with water in it. Part of the dock that extends in the “lake” is now a submarine.

Nobody is out except for the street light on the dock. No grilling out today. No gathering in lawn chairs swapping lies. The only tans people are going to get will be painted on. The rain has been going on for so long, and is forecast to go on through the weekend making Pandion Ridge into Pandion Swamp.

I am guessing if this rain continues as forecast Pandion Swamp may turn into Gulf Coast beachfront property.

Almost as punishment, the telemarketers have called the bus telephone and my cell phone as much as 5 times in an hour since Tuesday. All different area codes, some don’t say anything when I say hello, and some are telling me my car warranty has expired.

So I have turned off one phone and I am not answering the other.

The alligators are leaving, apparently they got waterlogged.

I’m glad to be away from home, but sheesh, be nice to visit with everyone if Mother Nature ever gives us a break. Non stop rain and thunder, hopefully we’ll get a little dry weather sooner or later. Not sure how many are here, thought the number early on was about 16. They even parked me next to Jon, no goat parking here for us SOB’s.

Reading Jon’s so enthusiastic, upbeat, and positive missive from the opening events of Oyster Fest 2021 makes me really feel sad we couldn’t make it. The level of excitement must have the “Fun Meter” pegged! Maybe next year.

Please keep the reports and pictures coming!

Bummer. I dont know whats worse.. being at a resort away from home in mega rain or trying to leave home for our place in the desert in Indio,CA being stymied by snowfall

Or being stuck working in ND and having your Webasto go out. Turns out the pumps were shot and leaking anti-freeze like Niagara Falls. Tried to get info from Jeff at ETLC on source for replacement but the local Freightliner dealer says he found them and could be here as early as tomorrow. Yeah!

Luckily, the temps are stabilizing and we should do just fine for the next few days with no heat in the bays.
