2019 Summer trip Cody, Wy to Moab, UT ??
My map program has me using Hwy 20 and 135 to get to 287 and 789 south out of Cody to get to I-80
Then West on I-80 to South 789 again.
Then that turns into Co 13 that goes all the way to I-70.
Anyone have good or bad to say about these roads?
This route keeps me out of Denver, which I like, but I do not know anything about the above listed roads.

The drive on 120S to Thermopolis is good and uneventful. The drive South of Thermopolis will put you on one of the most beautiful drives I have ever experienced through the Wind River Canyon. It’s worth staying the Thermopolis and enjoying the hot springs at your RV park and take a drive in the toad through the canyon and back again before leaving. I made the trip in the opposite direction from Rawlings to Cody in a 40′ with a toad without issue.
I have not been on the roads S. of I80 so someone will need to jump in on those roads.
Not sure where you plan to go from Moab, but be sure to avoid what’s known as the million dollar highway between Ouray and Durango.

Andre & Ann, don’t avoid the “million dollar highway”, just don’t attempt it in the bus. Take your toad and spend the day driving it… some of the best scenery is there.

Andre, no issue taking 789 south from I-80. Weve done it the bus. After leaving I-80 on Hwy 789 be sure to stop near Baggs, Wy to see ( the wagon wheel ruts from the OREGON Trail. Road to Rifle and beyond is bus friendly. Once on I-70 west to Crescent Jct in Utah where you head south to moab. We love Moab Valley Resort when we stop there

Are you and Ann going to take the Rubicon out on some of the Jeep trails in Moab and around Delores? There are some incredible trails and sights if you have time.

Yes, we are going to Moab and Dolores to get out on as many trails as we can. We did Moab 2 years ago and had a blast. Want to do a lot more.

I was there two years ago for Easter Jeep Safari which may have been when you were. Great time until I trashed the front pumpkin about 2 hours in on Golden Spike. Wish I was joining y’all although we did Moab about 14 years ago in the simmer (oops I meant summer) and it gets warm (but its a dry heat). It was 108 degrees on Hell’s Revenge (I thought the temperature was appropriate for the trail name).

We will be in Moab at Portal RV from 7 to 20 September. Our summer trip out west does not really start until late July early August, but we will be on the road until some time in November.
You do know that the reason we have the Rubicon and we are going to Moab is because of the Jeep trip we all took with you at Buckhorn Rally back in 2010. Ann had so much fun that we decided to do more Jeeping. That day on the trails in Texas was a lot of fun.

We are in Moab now staying at the Portal. They are both fantastic! We drag a rubicon as well and finally got it out off road on the “bunny hill” jeep trails. Amazing how the crowds disappear a mile off the road.
We generally come down the Idaho/Utah side from Up North.
Where do you stay in Delores? We stayed at The View last year and the spot we had was huge for a big rig. We could have got rig and a stacker in with room.
