So as an update to my question on the 2014 silverado, I ran it from central fl to amarillo tx with the negative battery cable disconnected. No problems dragging it down the road. My radio station presets even kept (not that it did me any n good in four states over). Only problem was my avg mpg log was reset. I’ll stick with the battery cable disconnect per chevys manual.
