  • 2008 Jeep Wrangler – Ready to Tow

Posted by Archived on March 19, 2019 at 7:49 am

I wanted to be able to tow the Jeep as well as my 13 Ford F-150 and I always do my own wiring and base plates. Just for fun, I called two locations that are Roadmaster dealers to get a price on my plug n play wire harness and Roadmaster Base Plate install. One came in at 1350.00 and the 2nd 1700.00. Hey Vern, do I look like I have stupid stamped on my forehead.undecided

So it took a day of crawling around on the floor, no pit or lift and some Tylenol, but all worked out good and I know the job is done right with all bolts torqued and the wiring fished through the frame rails. The cost was 365.00 for the Base Plate Kit and 85.00 for the plug and play light kit, a total of 450.00. Need to add the air line, but waiting on part.

just wanted to make folks aware you don’t have to have your wallet siphoned. Jon accused me of using dues money for my parts, the shame of it.

I’m impressed. Tom actually has done some work.

I hope this shift in the alignment of the planets is not a sign I will be getting a smart phone.

People in Hell have been ordering snowmobile suits because they heard Tom was actually doing manual labor. He always told me he was “management”.

Dues money for parts… hell, he bought the whole Jeep with the PC Visa Card.

We gave up long ago paying high labor costs to install base plates.

With the exception of our H2 Hummer I made (fabricated) every one of my base plates and installed every one, plus wired every toad. When I did the first one I did not know you could buy base plates or that someone could install them.
