2002 XLII IFS Lower A Arm
Need a little help here.
Does anyone know the correct procedure to replace the dust boots covering the Lower A Arm Bushing? The rubber boot is falling apart and I have picked up the replacement parts for 30 buck each side. If I look at the parts manual drawing it appears I have two choices. Remove the four main mounting bolts attaching the IFS and Lower A Arm assembly or it appears there is a single bushing retaining bolt accessed from under the metal dust cover at the bottle of the A Arm and pivot the arm down to replace the boot. Perhaps both will need to be removed to disassembly. Anyway any help would be appreciated. BTW, I have all the proper equipment for safety. Just need the meat of the procedure if anyone has performed this before.

If you haven’t already done the job………….. Remove the cap on the bottom of the arm. Remove the bolt that retains the bushing to the tapered post. Install a puller bolt that will separate the bushing from the post. The boot is retained to the post by an internal clip which is hard to deal with while the lower arm is still installed…… If yours is like mine the rubber bushing will be de-laminated from the metal casing and you will be removing the lower arms to replace the bushing.
