2 Birds, 1 stone
Posted by Archived on May 6, 2014 at 5:02 pmAs part of my job I am expected to pick on people. Today was Jeff Rowe’s turn.
I stopped to visit with him today and continue to be impressed with what a resource we all now have located in Vonore TN.
He is working on a PC member’s bus and the point was driven home that Jeff’s customers are really benefitting from having a service location capable of working on both the chassis and conversion.
That ability to work on the entire coach makes service by Jeff not only more economical but convenient. Give him a call. Whether it is new air bags, a new floor, or work on the generator he does it all.

Jon,
I’ve been in contact with Jeff regarding my Vantare bedroom slide seal. I hope to see to see him soon; we’re practically neighbors.

I am at Jeff’s place now getting some maintenance done. It is a very nice, clean facility and Jeff is first class to deal with. I had a laundry list and everything is going very well. He should finish up tomorrow if all goes well. We are waiting for some parts from Prevost which should arrive tomorrow AM.
If you need some work, give Jeff a call. He is very easy to talk to and won’t try to pad the bill with things you don’t need. He actually convinced me that some hoses I was concerned about, did not need to be done at this time.
It is great to have a place to go for work on either the chassis or conversion. His location is easy to get to and is secure for parking.

Count us in. Let us know when you get there.

I called him last week with some of my issues but we never were able to get together. I’ll try again soon. I have a couple of things that I am sure are out of the real of my experience.

I must be the luckiest first time Prevost buyer who bought from a private owner. Jeff’s shop is something like 18 miles from where the seller had the bus stored.
Jeff has a great shop and all the right equipment. When he explains something to you about a Prevost, you can tell that he certainly knows of what he speaks … as in been there, done that.

I’ll be bringing our coach back to Jeff this Friday for another round of small items to work on. First round was a great experience, I am sure this second round will be just as nice.
Speaking of that, need to complete the actual list and get it into an understandable document (the list I sent him in email was ramblings I jotted down while in the Prevost technical seminars down in Tampa).

While it is important to have all service work performed to a list that is specific, all owners would benefit from allowing time with the service provider to create a formal maintenance program for the coach. This includes Prevost as well as service providers like Jeff.
Prevost has a formal maintenance schedule for our coaches available on their web site. That is an excellent starting point. But how we use our coaches likely requires us to modify the Prevost schedule to reflect our use as well as our comfort level for preventive maintenance for items that are not part of the formal maintenance schedule which was designed for commercial use of the coach.
But as owners we need to go beyond the Prevost schedule. Our conversions include other service items that are equally important such as our generators and other devices. Any maintenance program has to include cleaning AC filters, generator oil and filter changes, and preventive maintenance work such as refrigerator condenser coil cleaning or smoke alarm batteries.
Sitting down with Jeff or a Prevost service manager to work out a plan is going to enable you as an owner to tap into their experience and knowledge of things that need to be a part of your coach maintenance plan. They know what common repairs they have made over the years so they will also know how you can avoid those problems.
You can literally set up a comprehensive maintenance program that suits your needs, you can also tie in a schedule that matches your travel plans so you aren’t buying a lot of diesel fuel to drive out of your way to get service. Set up a plan that allows you to include a maintenance event when you travel near your service provider rather than making special trips.

Well we left our baby in the capable hands of Mr Jeff Rowe, To install new flooring and some other cosmetic work also a level 3 service, I am sure he will show some of the progress especially the flooring so we can see how it goes . His place is easy to get to and the yard is paved, plenty of room. Ran into Mark he had his 2008 in for some work he came all the way from MInnesota.
