1S4P What does this mean?
On the LiTime app I have the batteries set up as 1S4P I get S means Series and P is Parallel 4 is how many batteries there in Parallel and 1 is how many in Series, Is the Series part internal, I goggled it still does not make since?? I’m wired 4-12v batteries wired in Parallel still 12v with Bus Bars?? This is what it Says!
In the context of a Litime 280 amp-hour battery, “1S4P” refers to the battery’s cell configuration, meaning it has 1 cell in series and 4 cells in parallel.
Here’s a breakdown:
- “S” stands for “series”: This indicates how the cells are connected to increase the voltage.
- “P” stands for “parallel”: This indicates how the cells are connected to increase the capacity (amp-hours).
- “1S”: Means there is only one cell connected in series.
- “4P”: Means there are four cells connected in parallel.
In essence, this configuration means that the battery is built from four 280 Ah cells connected in parallel to increase the capacity, and then these four cells
are connected in series to maintain a specific voltage
