1998 Royal Step well slide removal
I need to remove the step well slide on A 1998 Royal. I can’t find the release for the slide mechanism. It comes and and hits some physical stop in the metal slide on each side.
I have access to the ram attach point to the front of slide where it is attached to push and pull the slide.
The ram is leaking air. I have removed the screws holding the ram to the under side of the well but can’t get the screws out to remove the ram.
Two things prevent removing the screws.
They obviously screwed the machine screws into an undersized hole so they will have be turned out of the wood mounting.
The slide is approximately 1 inch above the ram so turning the screws is not possible and the screws are extending almost 1 1/2 inches below mount. There is not enough room to push screws out as less than an inch above ram to underside of slide.
