I had a 97 Liberty and it was a superb coach in every way. Have there been improvements that could have been made? Probably, and I did make a few such as inverter by-pass and back up water pump, but when I think back at all the features it had it was an outstanding coach.

That bus belonged to a friend in Abilene, Texas who traded it in on a newer Marathon in February of this year. They owned the bus for approximately 11 years. The bus had some renovations done in 2018 (flooring, upholstery etc) and the owners took care of it.

Jon,
ON the pressing out of the bushings and pressing in the new ones…… Prevost does not even carry the $2000 tool for this any longer. They just replace the entire control arm…
That was our experience after five hours of work and also trying to get anyone to press the new bushings … WE received the individual boots and after the coach was in the air and the old arms off… we were told of the problem… to Prevost’s credit, they stood by me and made a tremendous concession on the parts ….
The parts are about $3000 regularly for the rebuild from Prevost as I recall…I have a cost chart if anyone wants it…

Loc,
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping someone would know of this coach. Yes, it does look like it was properly loved, and as a result, I purchased this coach yesterday. Would it be possible to contact the prior owner for me? I would like to obtain any records he may still have and would be happy to reimburse him for his trouble and shipping cost. Also, would you ask him if he has the tool box and joey slide, wondering if I could possibly purchase that back to reinstall in the front pass. bay.
As for the water heater, it was replaced October 2018.
A big “thank you!” to everyone who posted, a lot of great information.

Jim,
I talked to the owner earlier this week. He is fine with you giving him a call. Send me an email (loc.mcnew@creins.com) and I will get his number to you. I don’t want to post his name or number on the site because you know how Truk and Jon are about hounding folks on their membership fees.

We do not hound everyone. We hound Loc because he hasn’t paid any of his dues yet.
-
By the way Loc, your dues are past due.

That is a really nice looking coach. If I was upgrading, I’d go see it.

Jim , For me the lack of a Private Head is a deal breaker, sorry I like my Privacy .

I’m in agreement with Al. However for different reasons. We view a private toilet as an odor containment vessel.
-
We never made claims of that nature regarding what odors may be contained within the coach. However let me restate for the record. The discharges from Liberty coaches have been proven to be as wonderful as rose petals.

That’s what I told a guy who drove by as I was at a dump station leaving a city park. He stopped and said “when it come right down to it we all have to do the same things, don’t we?” I said “That’s kind of true but when I dump there is no smell”! He paused for a second and then drove away. Tee Hee!
