Thanks to this forum and comments changing out the 24 year old fridge and finding one to replace it the job went very smoothly. Thanks to my wife and son for helping me pull this off. Beer should always be cold now

Hey Dan the 67 Camaro I picked up 8 years ago it’s a nice little cruiser lots of fun. -
I was just getting ready to ask the same question as Dan and I as I scrolled down he beat me to it. Nice looking Camaro!
And, nice garage!

Why is it other guys have room in their garage and I have none?
-
Jon, just be happy you have a garage..alot of us do not…..I am looking for one right now and maybe one day I will have it
..you guys are right that is a beautiful garage -
That’s cool Jeff, when I was a kid I had a 67rs and a 68 SS 350. Like most others who had late 60’s muscle cars, I wish I had ’em back.(-;

You might say that now, and maybe for Saturday night cruise ins they may be OK, but compared to the cars of today they cannot compare. If I am not mistaken the typical family Honda or Toyota will outperform my split window Corvette in every way, ride more comfortably and with reliability I could only dream about.

Geeesh Jon! First you complain about not having enough room in the garage/shop/bus barn you have (that many of us don’t have the luxury of having) and then you complain about the reliability, performance, ride, and comfortable your rare collector car that most of us would give our eye teeth for. A number of us have an idea. Give the split window to one of us and then you’ll have more room in your garage!
Very first car I ever drove was a 1969 Z/28 Camaro (with electric windows). Oh the sound of solid lifters! Wanted one ever since … but have never been willing to pay the collector car premium at $5,000 … then $15,000 … then $35,000 … then $60,000 and now I think its close to six figures for a real deal.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the car and garage and yes it’s nice at the end of the day to pull the Bus in to shop and knows it protected from the elements. The Camaro is 50 years old this year and I can honestly say there is nothing out there today with the same lines as the cars in the 60’s there’s just something about them. Weather it’s a old classic Prevost or a classic hot rod the people you meet on your way is what it’s all about. -
Jon, re the garage – size matters, re the split window – charisma matters.

In my infinite wisdom I sold the split window for $1400 in 1973 to buy my 73 Corvette for about $5500.
Compared to the cars of today both were turds. Every now and then in a moment of temporary insanity I think it would be nice to have another split window, but then I snap out of it.
It was noisy, hot, everything rattled, it needed points and plugs every 10,000 miles, it ate U-joints. and rode like a lumber wagon. It took 14 seconds to do the 1/4 at a speed of 96. Today’s Honda Accord will do it in 14.5 seconds at 96.8 MPH.
Was the car sexy to look at? You bet. Would it attract attention? Absolutely. Would I want to spend an hour driving it, I’m not sure.

Of course today’s technology is impressive, our oldest has a new Charger Scat Pack, does the 1/4 13 flat with the Redhead and I along for the ride. Hell, I think the AC was on also AND it gets 20 mpg. My old 67 RS ran a 12.55 at KCIR many moons ago, ( still have the time slip). It would just barely idle at 1200 rpm, small block, solid lifters, 11.5 pistons, 4.88 gears etc, etc. Lucky to see 8 mpg…………Gawd I loved that car…..
