12v Soleniod Coil & Valve
Good morning everyone, I have been reading as many posts as I can about the air system for my bus, now I am looking for 12v coils, valves, and even the Norgren valves.
My question is locating a website that offers them because we are rolling on down the road and wanting to do our own repairs.
We are looking for part numbers and or websites heck even swap meet at this time will work.

Go to Prevost’s web site. You can get all their manules with part numbers for you bus specific to year and model. Also, have found Prevost top end to deal with when trying to find a specific part through their parts desk!

You cannot get the 12v coil & valves from Prevost, they only have 24v. You’ll have to get them from Liberty. I’m assuming your talking about the 5 port manifold in the steering bay. If Jeff in parts tells you to get them from Prevost, you’ll end up with 24v.

The 24v issue is what I am running up against. I have been looking at Grainger to see if they carry something for us. The last time I talked to Prevost in Jacksonville, FL. I wasn’t impressed with the service manager, we talked on the phone, sort of, he had a conversation with someone else while I was on the phone with him so I took some of my latest work to a different dealer because of it.

Your vintage coach probably has a 4 solenoid valve manifold. Just wanted to point that out because Tom is right except for earlier coaches. All later models have a 5 solenoid valve manifold. They also have an operating logic that differs from yours so you have to understand your system logic is not what most are now familiar with.
As to getting parts, you first have to determine if the solenoid valve coils in your coach are 12 or 24 volts. Use your multi-meter to check for the voltage as you apply power from the leveling system controls. I am guessing the second coil down on the manifold is the driving or road coil. Start with that one, key on, leveling system switch in the road position.
The top one should be to manually lower or raise the front, and the bottom two are for the rears.
If the coils have 24V power to them Prevost will have them. If not, try Liberty. As an alternative use the Norgren valve web site to find a local distributor or dealer.
I don’t believe Grainger can help you on any of the Norgren valves or components.
Don’t be alarmed if Prevost cannot give you specific detailed information on your leveling system. First, they are seeing fewer and fewer coaches of your vintage. Adding to their confusion is the fact only a few converters at the time your coach was built left the leveling system unmodified. Each converter had their own changes and Prevost has no information on those modifications. The system you have is almost the same as the standard Prevost system, but Liberty modified it to provide an automatic leveling feature and to do so they added additional valves in the steer compartment and their own switching to control the suspension.

I have located some coils from Liberty, I will post the part numbers when I have them.
