’06 chassis
In doing some research, I noticed the Prevost went to a heavier chassis in ’06 which especially helped the H-3s from being too top heavy.
My question to those who own H-3’s, 1999-2005, have you noticed any issues about being a little top-heavy?
I’m assuming the chassis change in ’06 did not affect the XL models.

Tim, short answer…no. Just heavier front axle rating…probably to accomadate more slides. Geo.

So to clarify, If there are 365s on the front, with an older chAssis, you still have the same weight rating? If that’s the case why put 365s on the front?

I talked to a 07 Prevost XL owner this weekend, and he said the 365’s track better. Also, the 365’s have a higher load capacity at the same pressure as the 315’s, so you can lower pressures for a better ride. -
Other than changes to accomodate greater front axle ratings I seriously doubt if anything else on the chassis was beefed up.
If Prevost had retained the 315 tires they were absolutely maxed out on the 18,000 pound axles and their rating exceeded on later coaches with the 19,000 pound axles.
Changing tire size does nothing to increase the axle rating or limits. There is a whole lot more that goies into axle ratings.
