  • 03 Liberty electric shade

One of the electric shades broke tonight. As it was coming down apparently the string inside broke. Motor still seems to be fine. Is it possible to re-string these things?

    Dean,

I did 3 of mine on the Liberty XLII and it’s a PIA. You have to get the lift tape, it’s kind of like dental floss on steroids and then have access to 24v. I made a taple out of a piece of plywood and 2 saw horses and covered it with a blanket to do the work. I used the jump lug for the 24v source.

It takes patience, but can be done. If you’re near Jeff’s, he’s good at it and loves to work on the blinds.

Here’s a source for the tape: Lift Tape

Thanks Tom. Sounds like Jeff will be the answer for me.

My local blind guy does mine. He’s just a bit slow about it because they took away his driving license.
