Replacing my old Atwood wayer heaters and cleaning up plumbing. Advice appreciated:
1. On today’s new coaches – what is state of the art for water pumps? Variable speed? What models? Quiet?
2. If variable speed – do i still need a pressure/expansion tank?
3. Do the new Atwoods need check valves?
Thanks!

Big fan of Headhunter Mock 5 pumps, yes they are expensive. As most know I have been running various yachts for years, the vast majority have the Headhunter pumps on them that are providing water for showers, sinks, toilets, & washing machines, often providing water PSI to multiple items at the same time without loss of pressure or volume. I have used these pumps for years and had minimal failures, Headhunter is awesome when service is needed. They don’t advertise it but, customers order the wrong pumps (AC pump when they needed DC pump) that are unused but restocked as previously owned. You can by these pumps at about 1/2 off with full warranty.
Prevost converters that use Headhunter pumps don’t even come close to utilizing the pumps to their full capacity.

My Country coach has 2 Shurflo pumps in parallel with an expansion tank. Never had an issue. One nice addition i made is installing a thermostatic mixer for the shower.

Cool!! I have read about Shurflo and Aquajet. Will need to research headhunter. Is the expansion tank just to protect the water heaters or functions as a pressure tank like in a well pump setup?

Mike, how did you get access to the back side of the shower to swap mixers?
