  • Where Are You For Christmas?

Posted by Davy on December 24, 2017 at 8:07 am

Merry Christmas Everyone from cold southern Ohio!

I think that many of you travel south in the cold and you must be the smart ones. Since we travel most of the year for work, Christmas brings us home to family. We arrived yesterday.

    We left this Wednesday.

And this was yesterday 10 miles from home with rain and big snow flakes mixed in.

    Soon we were tucked inside.

The last 900 miles of the drive in rain ruined the chance of getting the bus home clean.

Our fall tour took us 10,330 mostly trouble free miles. We started here from the barn on September 5th and the four corners of the trip were Johnson, Vermont, Mobile, Alabama, Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, California. These old beasts really are pretty dependable.

Where are you and the bus for Christmas? I hope it is a nice Christmas wherever you are.

Home in Missouri now, leave for Casa Grande, Arizona on the 26 or 27th for months.

We’re home, but the bus is in sunny California at ORI Indio. What’s wrong with this picture?? It was 3.2 degrees when we awoke this morning. In Indio right now is 43.

Fort Collins, then off to Phoenix for the NewYear. Eventually wandering to Florida for the PC parties.

Nice toasty 0 degees this morning!

(Pictured) We were at Meteor Crater RV Park a couple of weeks ago heading to sunny Palm Springs, CA, where we are spending Christmas.

Today will be in the low 70’s… burrrr!

    Safe travels,

    Dan,

How was the comfort overnight at those temperatures?

Very comfortable, full disclosure tho, the webasto has been acting up so we’re running the electric heaters. Still stays nice though. When we go through Texas we’ll have Rudy fix us up.

At home. Bus is tucked away in it’s nice warm garage until the end of April. It is snowing right now, and the high tomorrow is supposed to be about -7. Tonight the low is supposed to be -17.

I still can not get Jon or Tom interested in a visit during the winter….

    Mark,

Even propane freezes at those temperatures.

When we lived in western NY and it got that cold even the government would freeze spending. You know it is cold when that happens.

Palm trees, soft breezes… what’s that white stuff on the ground, Dan?

Merry Christmas to all. We’re having a quiet last Christmas in SC before moving to high ground in central FL next year. Major downsize. Building a ‘maintenance free’ house with attached bus garage. And we’ll still be on the road for six months.

Linda, that’s snow, had it last Christmas in Sante Fe now this year in Ft Collins. We’re hoping to up our odds of Santa visiting with white stuff on the ground, but alas the Redhead has been naughty again this year. …….. Probably not gonna happen…….
