New Sewer Hose
Tom…
Some time back you mentioned to me about a new type of sewer hose… can’t remember any details except that it was tough and retracted very well. Was it metal of some kind? Google hasn’t been any help… keeps listing Rhino as the toughest and best.

I have been very happy with the Waste Master system. The only issue I might see for you is transitioning to the large Thetford connection under the floor of your Liberty.

We use the Rhino hose that is very heavy duty. I have used this same hose with the other coach so it must be going on 5 yrs. (It’s still like new). I had to buy an adaptor for it to fit the ‘rose petal’ Liberty sewer connection. :o)
I use the smaller hose that came with the coach as it fits exiting under the coach and I can close the bay door, etc. The small hose works well if staying at a site longer than several days as I can release the tank from inside of the coach. Otherwise, I just connect the Rhino straight out on the Liberty connection, open valve, empty contents, unhook the hose and put away.
90% of the time I use the Rhino.

As long as we are talking about sewer hoses and that sort of stuff I have a problem maybe some others can solve.
I have two problems. First I have been ordering and using red rose petals and the last time I replenished them I know I filled the rose petal reservoir with red ones, but now when discharged I am getting pale yellow. That just won’t do. What is causing the color shift?
The second problem can be seen from the photo below. I went in the garage to work on the bus this morning and it is clear I have a rose petal leak. Has anyone had a leak and if so what was done about it. The price of rose petals has gone way up and I cannot keep filling the reservoir.

I hate to break the news to you, but if Di has used the facilities, the rose petal color change means that you are going to be a Daddy again. :o)

They were red when they hit the floor, but the refliction of light from the poilshed pipes and slack adjusters, bleached the red out and they faded to yellow. In a few hours they may faded to white.

The ph of the material that the red rose petals came in contact with caused them to change color.
Typically on sail boats and buses the norm is to double hose clamp all connections. When you introduce the optional rose petal dispenser, then you must triple hose clamp all connections for safety, and to keep that industry healthy.

Jon, switch to a Marathon as the manual says no rose petals required, oh and you also don’t have to keep the plumbing polished. As you can see this save you some polishing time and you won’t have to keep buying rose petals. Just a thought!

And on airplanes this is sometimes caused by upper ringland failure followed by a double-shorted secondary.

First you guys with lesser conversions don’t understand. I don’t polish my piping. I have people that polish my piping. And I hope you all understand when I talk of my garden and growing my own food, I am also growing my own rose petals (to save money so I can afford my Liberty)

Diane … I’ve been using the same Rhino for 5-6 years and have even stepped on it a couple of times. However, unlike in Tazie, the stuff goes down counter clock wise.

Doug…I hope everyone realizes that being from Tassie everything does go down in reverse. do you think that’s why our tank never fills up ? Just never have a “shitty day” !!
