  • Shorted out something

Posted by Chuck on April 28, 2016 at 12:00 am

tried to plug into Port Shore Power and evidently killed something.

Inverters stopped working and on power panel the battery indicator is flashing, generator won’t start, crestron will not operate. Lights work but seems like all on port side inop.

Started coach and let run a few min and inverts seemed normal but soon stopped

leaving in the AM and will need to dry camp a few nights

    where do I start?

Had something similar happen a month ago. Have you tried resetting? Marathon tech service walked me through it; shut off the shore power circuit breaker, shut off the inverter breakers, and then the 12- and 24- volt breakers by the chassis batteries, then turn everything back on in reverse sequense. Can’t tell you where your switches are, since you have a Liberty, but it’s worth a try.

Your description doesn’t reveal much, but it sounds like power was lost to the DC side of the electrical system, and maybe the AC side as well.

This is strictly a wild guess as to what might help reboot everything is to try to turn off the PLCs in the electrical bay using the key, and then turn it back on. I would disconnect the Watch Dog first. I say this assuming you have battery power.

That’s not where I would start, but it probably the simplest thing you can do that impacts the entire coach house operating system. If that does not work you are going to have to start with a voltage tester to identify if and where you have power.

If your house batteries were completely dead starting the bus to get some charging current into the house batteries via the chassis alternator is a good first step.

Hey PC members take notice…I have not yet had the privilege of meeting Jeff at ETLC but I am looking forward to it. My point is, here it is 6:20 PM Friday evening, and again here he is, willing to help a PC member out, who is in a bind. A big thanks goes out to Jeff at ETLC.
