  • Engine Compartment Light

Posted by Tim on March 30, 2017 at 6:27 pm

My 12v light in my engine compartment has never worked since I purchased my Bus. No big deal, since I’ve never really needed it; however, with some time to kill today, I put in a new bulb with negative results.

So, I then checked the 24v relay, replaced the 24v relay with a 24v relay that I knew was working, and then replaced the 15amp fuse with a 15amp new fuse. Nope.

On my coach, I don’t have a toggle switch to turn the light on/off. The light is supposed to be activated via magnet when I either open the passenger rear side door or the engine compartment door.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

Did you have either the key on or the flashers on? On mine the lights don’t work unless one or the other is on.

Tim, ignition key ON, storage switch by the entrance door ON, it should work, confusing I know…learned that at Prevost QC last summer…did a lot of troubleshooting myself…LOL…

    Tim,

Mine works the same as Mark stated plus I have a dash switch labled Work Lights that also turns on my engine and rear bay lights along with the two white lights on the back next to the backup lights.
