Silver 92 not firing?
We just got back from Palm Springs, stayed at the Indio Elks, 1 of my my neighbor’s there has a 93 Marathon with a 8v92 engine and he had been there for over a week and engine won’t fire.It spins really good but it doesn’t even sputter. The owner had some health problems so I went over there a couple of times and checked it out, Never even seen a silver 92 before, I called Dick Warren and he told me to check the switch in the rear for rear starting,Inside rear electrical panel there is a clear relay that clicks when you put switch in rear start position and a yellow wire at botton has 24v when switch is up has power coming out on top side of relay so that tells me switch is OK?. Funny thing when it was spinning I sprayed some WD40 in the little flip up after turbo and nothing. I jumped fluid level sensor no go,at this point I was worthless in trying to figure it out. At this time 3 of his friends came over and the one guy seemed to know this engine. There was a aux fuel pump wired in line so he cracked a couple of lines and pumped any air out No Go. They tried spraying starting fluid in that flip up a couple of times No Go. I thought on a diesel spraying starting fluid in and cranking it,It might at least sputter. The 1 guy said if the DDEC 2? was bad it would block it from getting fuel and starting fluid ?? Any thoughts??
