generator fuel pickup line
Hi folks. Wondering if someone on here has had this same problem. We have a 1996 Country Coach with about 175000 miles on it. A couple of years ago the generator wouldn’t run after the main tank was less than about a quarter full which I think is normal. However last year even after filling the tank I could not get the generator to run once I filled the fuel filter. It would start and run for about 30 seconds then quit. I checked the fuel lines and noticed the one running to the tank was pretty rough looking. I trimmed the fuel line back and put a splice in and everything worked fine. A year later and the the generator runs for a short time then dies. The generator will run fine if I put the fuel pickup line in a pail of diesel but the minute i hook the lines up I can see the water separator bowl has air bubbles in it. So i know that I have a compromised fuel line somewhere to the tank. The fuel line runs into the roof of the generator bay and I have torn half the coach apart trying to get to the fuel tank so I can either replace the entire fuel line. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks
