It has not been a secret that the TSD fuel discount program is available. It costs nothing. Let me repeat for those who do not understand. Sign up for the TSD program and you will have access to diesel fuel discounts without paying a penny.
Is it worth it? Here are some facts. I put 3700 miles on the coach in 7 days, six driving days. I did not select my truck stops based on price because I was after convenience and was willing to pay if necessary for that convenience. Within the TSD program the best discounts are available at TA or Petro truck stops so all my refueling was done at them.
I used 643 gallons which included the initial fill up so I started out with full fuel. My total discounts for the fuel purchased totaled $373.11 dollars. For the mathematically challenged members that is about $.58 per gallon average discount.
Those of you who have chosen to not take advantage of this fuel discount program please let us know why. When I can average a savings of $58 for every 100 gallons of fuel I buy I am at a loss to understand how or why anyone can fail to take advantage of this program. If it is because you have so much money you do not care about discounts, please adopt me and get me in your will.

We made a similar 2000 mile trip from Vegas to ETLC in 6 days. Stopped for fuel 3 times. Saved a ton of money ($60-$80 per fill up)!
We also downloaded the new app which shows you all fuel stops within a 150 miles (would like to see that extended) with the final price and directions to the one you select.
The app is just the cherry on top of an excellent fuel program.

Totally agree with Jon & Bill. On our trip out to AZ from the Nashville, TN area last week we saved roughly $1200 in fuel by using the program. That means a couple of nice dinners for us in Tucson. And, being somewhat frugal (Karen might say “tight” ), I’d sure rather have the bucks saved, especially since it’s hugely more convenient (and safer) than not using the program. Pull up, swipe the card, fuel, & hit the road. No wandering around, or leaving the coach to make multiple trips to the fuel counter. About as simple and painless as it gets.
Reminds me that I still owe Rudy & Carolyn a dinner at the establishment of their choosing the next time we have the opportunity to see each other since he was instrumental in bringing the program to PC’s attention, and saving all PC program participants some pretty appreciable coin. Thanks again, Rudy!!

First a Thanks to Rudy, He also let others know. My Dh and I have used it since it was first introduced. The money saved has been signifcant and I have been able to pay for repairs to the coach.with it. Darn thing keeps breaking. Which.is why I continue to lurk here gaining knowledge.on Prevost.
The.more folk that use it ,will give TSD better negotiating power. plus as Jon said, it is so easy to use. I love fueling now. I loathed having to stand in line to start. Now, if we can find our Prevost.

Good to know, Jon. In two weekends Tammie and I are supposed to be taking a weekend trip from Greenville, SC to Huntington Beach State Park, SC, which is about a 5 1/2 hour drive. T/A is 15 minutes from my home and has current pricing at $1.692. Down 3 cents from the price posted yesterday.
I keep the coach at 1/2 tank so the gallons to fill up will not be a lot. However, it is good enough for us. Of course, the return trip will require more than 1/2 tank and we will use the closest T/A or Petro stop to us on the way home.

TSD…took the coach to Florida this past weekend…
Fueled at TA, Michigan, Monroe, 10/23, 160gal, pump price $402, paid $335.
Fueled at TA, Georgia, Lake Park(exit 2), 10/24, 150gal, pump price $377, paid $298.
Summary: 310gal, pump price $779, paid $633, savings of $146, average $24/gal(this includes TSD/Pump miscellaneous fees)
Prices at the pump at Lowe’s, Pilot, TA’s on I75 corridor $2.49 – $2.59, some places little lower, but not fitting my schedule to stop for fuel.
Left Friday, 10/23, 8:30am from home, arrived 10:45PM at Lake Park, exit 2 in Georgia, approx 954 miles. Got some rain along the way but not a bad drive…
Saturday morning, 6:30am started driving, arrived at Pelican in Naples 11:45am…, approx 384 miles.

I thought the original Love’s deal through AITA was good. But we did use GasBuddy to find less expensive diesel at safe, reliable stations from time to time.
We started using TSD in August of 2019. Then all last winter. Probably 10,000 miles. Always look on GasBuddy too, but TSD is always the best. With an 1,800 miles theoretical range and the tools on the EFS app I can plan my fuel stops to maximize our savings.
I’ve referred a number of people to the TSD … neighbors with diesel trucks, my amateur racing friends with diesels, the few trucker friends I have, the ARCA and NASCAR owners I’ve come to know over the years.
So far … few if any have signed up for the program. I’m puzzled as to why they don’t. I know there are skeptics out there … the program is too good to be true. It works!

Went back and reviewed the numbers. For the trip we purchased $859.23 worth of fuel according to the pump. After the TSD discount we actually paid $690.81 for a savings of $168.42. That would not have paid for our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi in Vegas a couple of weeks ago but it sure would have paid for a big chunk of it!
Additionally, if you have not downloaded the free app for you phone you should do that before your next trip!

Many people are concerned with the auto deduction from a bank account.
How many a using auto pay? I use it for all of my monthly bills to insure I never have a late payment.Have done this for 50 years.
How many have auto deposit
? You need to be checking your credit card and bank account daily.
I have a email notice for every credit charge and for every bank charge, If you aren’t using this technology you are a potential fraud candidate.

Our recommendation is to set up an account solely for the fuel costs and limit the amount kept in the account.

It is no different than sitting on the sofa in the living room after a day of driving. My TV is the road ahead, the entertainment is watching stupid driver tricks, and at 62 MPH the world passes me so I never or rarely have to worry about changing lanes to pass or having to take the bus off of cruise control.
I have watched drivers wear themselves out driving at a higher rate of speed, changing lanes, on and off the brakes, and generally really having to work at driving.
Ironically, as slow as I go it is very common for the same vehicles which are being driven much higher speeds pass me several times in a day. It is common for me to pull into a rest area or the fuel lanes of a truck stop, and there ahead of me will be a vehicle that has blown by me previously.

We finally signed up for the TSD fuel card recently. Two things were holding us back.
1st) we rarely need to purchase fuel when on the road. We rarely travel more than 300 miles away from home. And back home we’ve been paying no more than $1.70/gal for diesel at the local grocery store for years now. With 250 gal capacity we have more than enough range to go out and back without needing to stop for diesel.2nd) The wife insist on keeping a sizable sum of $ in our joint checking acct all the time. Being the flip phone owner/operators that we are, we minimize our online banking activities. I finally setup a separate individual checking acct that is linked to the fuel card and keep a smaller amount of $ in it.My longest day in the bus(pulling a loaded enclosed trailer) was 950 miles. From a rest area in Iowa to our home near San Antonio, TX on I-35 on a busy Sunday. I never drive faster than 65 mph. -
I used it for the first time, recently. Rudy turned me onto it, as well. Like others, I created a dedicated checking account with minimal funds. After a purchase, I can instantly transfer funds from another account at same institution if I really want to keep pennies in there. Since TDS doesn’t draft funds for a couple of days, that’s a viable way to handle it.

I see the new app mentions something about insurance here soon. Does that mean we can get quotes for our insurance too? Tom do you know anything about that?

Tommy, I just got off the phone with Gina Leeper asking her a few questions. She said the insurance is still a work in progress.
