As much as I want an opportunity to get the insurance mess straightened out, after my last experience I am not optimistic.

It might be different for sticks and staples owners who are willing to accept ACV, but when we expect insurance suitable for a bus conversion and then want agreed value we are out of luck. There are so few who will write a policy at the level of the value of our coaches there is virtually no competition and we get what we get.

We use it too and it’s great! Thanks to Jon&Tom for setting it all up.

I use the app to find good pricing and I think we’ve even seen almost 60c off pump price once. It seems to vary so using the app is a bonus. Petro and TA seem to be the best discount right now.

I got my final summary of fuel purchased and my discounts for about 770 gallons of fuel. My discounts totalled $412. That calculates to about $.53 per gallon average.

For the life of me I cannot understand why every one of our members is not using the program. We not only get to save some serious money from pump price, but the convenience of never having to leave the side of the bus is hard to beat.

Swipe the card, start pumping, and drive away when full. My last refill was about 30 miles from home, and from the time I pulled up to the pump, added 143 gallons and drove away was 15 minutes. I did not have to go in to leave a credit card or cash to get the pump started and I did not have to go back in to get my change or a credit card card back. Fantastic.

    Jon:

I fought it off for quite awhile because I just don’t like having to use my social security number, but I gave in and signed up. Big savings, should have give in earlier.

Called today to sign up but since I’m leaving on Monday, I would not get the card in time (my fault). I will sign up once I get to California.

    Safe travels,

I agree with Jon, this program is so convenient. Now that they have the new app it works even better than before. No more searching the map for the best price. Drive up, swipe card, fill up and drive off. Easy peazy. If you don’t take advantage of this program your crazy.

Just got a note that there is a new update out, least for Android. This is such a great time saver and money saver.

Continue our hunt for our Prevost.

Here we go again. Please don’t tell me that at some point they will not use cards but will require a smart phone to be able to use the program.

AITA did that with the NAPA fleet discount and I haven’t been to a NAPA store since.

In case nobody saw it, I am extending my middle finger to smart phones. Even the postal service requires smart phones to get verification codes for when I want to schedule a mail hold while we are gone on a trip.

In his book the late Alex Trebek makes it a point to say his phone is only to make and receive calls. Smart man.

Was he or was he just not willing to accept reality?

Hey ole Bill, If you are one of the folks who wants you phone device involved in every facet of your life, good for you. I am not criticizing your desire and choice to do that.

But my phone is just that, and as most know, my cell phone is rarely turned on, and then usually when I want to make a call. With seven robo/telemarketing calls on the land line at home today I am quickly getting to the point where the only way people will be able to communicate with me is via email.

I don’t do text, take photos, have voice mail, do banking, order Uber, use it as a GPS, use it to open my garage doors or start my car or have any apps. Unlike the rest of the world I don’t look at my phone every 30 seconds.

Most of my cars have a manual transmission so that should give you a clue about my willingness to embrace progress.

Yeah, I am pretty much your exact opposite. I rarely get a robo call due to the call blockers, I do my banking and investing online. I pay all my bills online. I text frequently to avoid having to have useless conversations with CSR folks and I utilize multiple apps like Google and Waze to ensure I get from point A to point B safely and as quickly as possible.

I love Alex but failure to accept newer technology would have us all riding horse to work and wondering what color the weather girls hair really is!

Now, it’s important for you to understand that I don’t give 2 cents about what you do and I would never say you should do something else. Enjoy your flip phone and I will enjoy my S10. It will likely become an S20 (or the latest and greatest) in a year or so but who knows. Once Elon Musk gets his Starlink internet up and running it might be something I have not even considered yet!

    Christmas is coming!

Perhaps we could all pitch in and buy Jon a smart phone for Christmas

TOM maybe we could devote a portion of the next seminar to teaching Jon how to use his new Christmas present.

Has anyone spoken with the folks at TSD on the phone? I tried the office numbers for the four people listed, but just got a generic voice mailbox for each. I left a message on Tara’s cell phone on Monday, but no response yet. I’m not clear on filling out the paperwork they provide, so I’m stuck in limbo.

I have a couple of times. Last time I called a customer service number and got an answer.

Anything one of us can help with?
